Recent Roofing Projects in the Ribble Valley

D Washington Roofing we can handle all types of roofing project and here is a recent job in Chatburn near Clitheroe. The owner wanted to add light into an added room and use this as a bedroom. Given the roof was a slate roof this involved putting up scafolding and removing the existing slates and replacing the waterproof layer.

With all the slates removed both from an back of the terraced property, we can see if there is any decay on the old timbers, which for an older property were in remarkably good condition. From the photos, it appears the loft insulation needed better insulation and removal of the old fibreglass.

New Windows were added to both front and back  of the property for additional daylight and insulation using a more modern material was used to given better insulation and save on heating bills. 

With the new windows now in placed and fully sealed against the elements, a waterproof later was added taking care not to damage any neighbouring slates and adjacent proeprty at either side of the project. We are now ready to begin taking the original slates and putting everything back. 

Using new galvanised nails to prevent corrosion in the future, each slate is carefully put back and here you can see the finished result. All out work comes guaranteed and as a local tradespeson with over 30 years experience, we take pride in our roofing work.
